Knock Knock ( Sundance 2015) by Peter Sciretta

Acquired: January 26
By: Lionsgate
Purchase Price: $3 million
Director: Eli Roth
Starring: Keanu Reeves
Other Info: The film had eight offers.

Plot Synopsis:

Evan Webber (Keanu Reeves) is living the dream. Just look at his beautiful, successful wife, his two wonderful kids, and his truly stunning house—which he designed himself. Of course he did. Things are going so well, Evan doesn’t even mind spending Father’s Day alone while the rest of his family heads out for a beach weekend. And then there’s a knock on the door. The two young women (Lorenza Izzo and Ana de Armas) standing on Evan’s doorstep are where Evan’s dream takes a nightmarish turn. Given co-writer/director Eli Roth’s well-deserved reputation for creating cinematic discomfort, it should come as no surprise what happens next: Things get weird, and then dark, and then much, much, much darker. But this is no splatter film, so Roth keeps the horror nice and psychological as Evan’s life—and house—get ripped apart, piece by beautiful piece.

Cop Car embarks on a harrowing crash course full of mayhem as the duo attempt to navigate the back roads behind the wheel of a machine that they have no clue how to operate. Blissfully unaware of the impending doom they face at every turn, they see things go from bad to worse when the corrupt small-town sheriff aims to get his car back at all costs. Mr. Jerry Garcia--We Salute You, RIP

Mr. Graham Nash - I used to be King

I used to be a King and everything around me
Turned to gold
I thought I had everything and now I'm left without a hand to hold
But it's all right I'm O. K. How are you?
For what it's worth I must say I loved you
And in my bed late at night, I miss you
Someone is going to take my heart
But no one is going to break my heart again
I used to be a King and everything around me
Turned to rust
It's 'cause I built my life on sand
And I watched it crumble in the dust
But it's all right I'm O. K. And I want to know
How you are
For what it's worth I must say I loved you as you are
And in my bed where are you?
Someone is going to take my heart
But no one is going to break my heart again
Someone is going to take my heart
But no one is going to break my heart again
I used to be a King and everything around
Me turned around
But I know all I have to do is sing
And I'll lift myself way off the ground
Yeah, but it's all right I'm O. K. How are you?
For what it's worth I must say I loved you
And in my bed late at night God I miss you?
Someone is going to take my heart
But no one is going to break my heart again
No no no no

Flore Bonaventura Par Hugo Saadi posted 29 novembre 2013 (Not suitable for kids)

» Elle m’a vraiment aidée à me détendre!

Brazil Beach Volleyball Tour

Larissa and Talita are expected to win more medals on the 2015 World Tour

Forteleza, Brazil, January 27, 2015 – Larissa Franca and Talita Antunes showed that they are likely to be among the leading pairs during the upcoming 2015 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour by winning the Forteleza leg of the Brazil Beach Volleyball Tour.
The pair won their 10th successive title together with a 2-0 (21-19, 21-17) victory over Val and Angela on Iracema Beach. It means Larissa and Talita lead the Brazilian Tour standings with 2,400 points ahead of Agatha Bednarczuk and Barbara Seixas on 1,800.
“We both have many years of experience and we have both gone through times like this,” Larissa said. “In beach volleyball you have to stick together all the time and regardless of the score you have to think about every point to win.”
Larissa and Talita teamed up in the middle of 2014 and after two ninth-place finishes they won four consecutive World Tour events.
Talita now holds 29 Brazil tour victories, while the Forteleza-based Larissa has seven. The win in Forteleza was their fifth of the current Tour following wins in Vitoria, Niteroi, Campinas, San Jose and Porto Alegre. The next stop on the Tour is in Joao Pessoa.

“The harmony we have is our strength and we were able to stay calm in difficult moments of the game and we are very happy with this achievement,” said Talita.
The Salgado sister, Maria-Clara and Carol won the bronze medal with a 2-0 (21-16, 21-16) win over rising stars Carolina Horta and Eduarda Santos Lisboa.

Congrats to all of you. God bless.

The Byrds - Mr. Spaceman

Woke up this morning with light in my eyes
And then realized it was still dark outside
It was a light coming down from the sky
I don't know who or why

Must be those strangers that come every night
Those saucer shaped lights put people uptight
Leave blue green footprints that glow in the dark
I hope they get home alright

Hey, Mr. Spaceman
Won't you please take me along
I won't do anything wrong
Hey, Mr. Spaceman
Won't you please take me along for a ride

Woke up this morning, I was feeling quite weird
Had flies in my beard, my toothpaste was smeared
Over my window, they'd written my name
Said, "So long, we'll see you again"

Hey, Mr. Spaceman
Won't you please take me along
I won't do anything wrong
Hey, Mr. Spaceman
Won't you please take me along for a ride

Hey, Mr. Spaceman
Won't you please take me along
I won't do anything wrong
Hey, Mr. Spaceman

Katie Couric and Bryant Gumbel

Katie Couric and Bryant Gumble by Francesca Bacardi

Katie Couric and Bryant Gumble had no idea that one moment on the Today show in 1994 would come back to haunt them decades later.

It was only the beginning of the Internet at the time, so it's understandable that they wouldn't necessarily "get" how email and the "network" functions, but 21 years later, they're showing the world that they still don't understand modern technology.

Just in time for the Super Bowl, BMW's new ad begins with the infamous Today clip and cuts to the present, where Couric and Gumbel are riding in the company's all-new electric car. Just like 1994, the duo is confused by how it works.

"And it's built using wind, like from a windmill?" Gumbel asks.

Or a fan? Or a turbine? Or a fan...bine?" Couric questions.

"What is i3 anyway?" asks Gumbel.

Clearly both of them have no idea what they're talking about, so they turn to the only person who might know.

"Allison," Couric says into a cellphone, "can you explain what i3 is?"

The two had famously wanted to talk to Allison during their segment on the Internet, but at the time Gumbel had joked that she wouldn't be able to describe the new technology quickly. Instead, another producer described the massive invention that would become so commonplace.

Couric told Today that it was fun to revisit the now-viral clip, saying that at one time the Internet wasn't as omnipresent as it is today.

"It was the object of ridicule all over the Internet, and I thought it was funny," she said. "There's people who look back and say that in hindsight, there was this transitional technology.

"It was really so new back then and then we see how it evolved."

But the technology isn't the only thing that has updated since 1994, at least according to Couric! Making fun of herself, Couric said she remembered something else from the interview.

"I vaguely remember the segment," she said, "but I do remember the sweater and that hair."

Emma Stone and Naomi Watts by Donna Dickens @MildlyAmused

You ever have that dream where you’re standing in front of a crowd and something terrible happens? Either it turns out you’re not wearing clothes, or your teeth start falling out, or you trip you co-star in front of everyone?

Yeah, that last one happened to Emma Stone at the 2015 SAG Awards last night. “Birdman” took the top honor of the year for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, which meant the ensemble got to troop up on stage to take accept the award. But when it came time for Naomi Watts to take a turn at the microphone, this happened:

You can almost see the moment Stone realizes this is about to become a meme. "Great, now I'm the chick who tripped Jet Girl," is probably what she's thinking.

Luckily, Naomi has the reflexes of a cat and caught herself with the help of Edward Norton (the disembodied hand).

Cat Stevens - Sad Lisa

Comments:Not suitable for kids

Open your door, don't hide in the dark

Cat Stevens - Sad Lisa

She hangs her head and cries on my shirt
She must be hurt very badly
Tell me what's making you sadly?
Open your door, don't hide in the dark
You're lost in the dark, you can trust me
'Cause you know that's how it must be

Lisa, Lisa, sad Lisa, Lisa

Her eyes like windows, tricklin' rain
Upon her pain getting deeper
Though my love wants to relieve her
She walks alone from wall to wall
Lost in a hall, she can't hear me
Though I know she likes to be near me

Lisa, Lisa, sad Lisa, Lisa

She sits in a corner by the door
There must be more I can tell her
If she really wants me to help her
I'll do what I can to show her the way
And maybe one day I will free her
Though I know, no one can see her

Lisa, Lisa, sad Lisa, Lisa

Directors Guild by Bryan Alexander, USA TODAY

Wes Anderson, Clint Eastwood, Alejandro G. Iñárritu, Richard Linklater and Morten Tyldum each received nominations for the Directors Guild of America Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement for 2014.

DGA President Paris Barclay announced the nominations on Tuesday.

"In a year full of excellent films, DGA members have nominated a stellar group of passionate filmmakers," said Barclay in a statement. "Inspiring and artistic, these five directors made films that left an indelible impact not only on their fellow directors and members of the director's team, but on audiences around the world."

No female directors were nominated.

It's the first DGA award nomination for Linklater, whose Boyhood received the Golden Globe for best directing and best film on Sunday night.

This is also Tyldum's first DGA award nomination (for The Imitation Game) and a first for Anderson (The Grand Budapest Hotel).

Tyldum said in a statement afterward: "Couldn't be more excited to be recognized by my peers. I am thrilled that my fellow directors gave me this honor and to be in this group of talented artists is overwhelming. I am truly over the moon."

For Eastwood, nominated for American Sniper, it's his fourth DGA award nomination.

Eastwood won the the award for Million Dollar Baby in 2004 and for Unforgiven in 1992. He was also nominated for Mystic River in 2003. Eastwood was also honored with the DGA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006.

This is Iñárritu's third DGA Award nomination. He was previously nominated in the film category for Babel in 2006. He won the DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Commercials for "Best Job" in 2012.

Notable snubs include Selma director Ava DuVernay and Gone Girl director David Fincher. But Scott Feinberg, awards columnist for The Hollywood Reporter, says that DGA nominations don't always reflect the best-director nominations for the Academy Awards.

"Only five times in the past 66 years have (Directors Guild noms) exactly matched up on the best-director Oscar nominations," says Feinberg. "It doesn't mean it's over for anyone."

The winner will be named at the 67th Annual DGA Awards Dinner on Feb. 7 in Los Angeles. The awards program will be hosted by Jane Lynch.

A word cloud of U.S. President Barack's 2015 State of the Union address.

Du har skrivit in fel kontaktuppgifter

Paulina Gretzky and Dustin Johnson by Mike Vulpo Tue

Congratulations are in order for Paulina Gretzky!

E! News can confirm the 25-year-old model and famous daughter to NHL great Wayne Gretzky welcomed her first child with fiancé Dustin Johnson.

"Paulina and I are happy to announce the arrival of our baby boy, who was born in Los Angeles on Monday morning," Johnson said in a statement to E! News. "Both Paulina and the baby are healthy, resting comfortably and in great spirits."

He added, "We sincerely appreciate the outpouring of love and support we have received and plan to release further details in the coming days!"

While the child's name remains top secret, we have to wonder whether the couple will follow Wayne's tradition. After all, Wayne's sons are named Tristan, Trevor and Ty. Coincidence? We think not!

Shortly before Paulina announced she was expecting, her fiancé announced that he was taking time away from the PGA tour in order to "seek professional help for personal challenges."

"By committing the time and resources necessary to improve my mental health, physical well-being and emotional foundation, I am confident that I will be better equipped to fulfill my potential and become a consistent champion," he said in a statement. "I respectfully ask my fans, well-wishers and the media for privacy as I embark upon the mission of self-improvement."

Fast-forward to the holiday season and Johnson appeared to be on the path to success once again. In an interview with Golf.com, Johnson admitted to staying close to home with Gretzky and her immediate family.

When not fulfilling his leading lady’s pregnancy cravings (it was celery, folks), Johnson enjoyed a “really simple” life with his growing family.

“That’s what I’ve been working on, really simplifying everything,” he shared. “And her being pregnant makes it that much more easy to simplify things.”

Congratulations to the happy couple on their baby news!

**Congrats to both of you. God bless.

Pauline Ducruet

Olivia Munn by Rebecca Macatee

Olivia Munn didn't always like directors' suggestions on how her character on The Newsroom should be, and when that was the case, she consulted the HBO show's creator and writer Aaron Sorkin.

In a candid chat with HuffPost Live, the 34-year-old actress recalled a specific instance in which she was encouraged to "take the girly route" and "smile at smirk" at her onscreen boyfriend Thomas Sadoski.

"I felt like, just because you're in a relationship doesn't mean you have to start being like, all giggly and girly," she said.

She didn't feel this submissive approach went along with how her character had been portrayed "the other two seasons," she said, so she checked in with Aaron to see if she should tone down her performance.

"He was like, 'One hundred percent not. Do not,'" she told HuffPost Live, "and we were always on the same page and then he would come up and back me right away...When you have him backing you—that meant everything."

She recalled one director who "pulled me aside and said, 'Olivia, the thing is I'm the director, so I have to look at the entire rainbow...and you're bringing something but I don't think you realize maybe how you're coming off...."

"I go, 'Oh, so do you don't think I realize how my choice are coming off?'" she said. ''How am I coming off?''"

When he said, "Aggressive," Olivia was quite pleased. "I go 'Great! That's exactly what I wanted,'" she said, "and that was it!"
