Independent Spirit Awards 2014 by Joseph Apodaca

The nominations for the 2014 Independent Spirit Awards were announced on Tuesday, Nov. 26, with "12 Years a Slave" and "Nebraska" leading the nominations with seven and six each, respectively.

Both films received nominations in the Best Director and Best Feature categories, as well as acting nominations for its lead and supporting cast members. Rachel Riley by Chris | the bike shed

She’s known for her ability to solve problems at the drop of a hat.

But Rachel Riley has left her husband Jamie Gilbert unable to work out the conundrum of why she has decided to end their marriage.

According to The Sun, the 25-year-old Countdown beauty has split from her 31-year-old husband just 16 months after getting hitched.

Jamie, 31, is said to be “devastated beyond belief” with a family friend adding that he is “distraught and stunned”.

A source told the paper: “He has no idea where this has come from. Rachel just told him they had grown apart.”

“They are separated. Rachel is away filming much of the time. Jamie’s stuff is still at the house so he hasn’t technically moved out.”

The couple previously split in 2009 after four years together but rekindled their relationship not long after.

“The whole family is very upset. They adore Rachel and everyone believed she and Jamie would start a family.

“They obviously fell in love before she was famous and for whatever reason, she now doesn’t feel they have a future together.”

Rachel recently competed in Strictly Come Dancing alongside dance partner Pasha Kovalev, being voted off the show earlier this month.

There is no suggestion, however, that any other parties were involved in the split.

Jamie and Rachel first met at Oxford University and married in August last year after he proposed to her on her 25th birthday.

A spokesperson for Rachel has refused to pass comment.

Fruitful meeting

Lausanne, Switzerland, November 28, 2013 – The FIVB Beach Volleyball Commission concluded its annual two day meeting at the headquarters of the International Volleyball Federation on Thursday, having discussed the latest innovations and modifications for international beach volleyball.

FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F° opened the meeting by expressing how important innovation is “for the development of our sport.

"We have two very important properties the World Tour and the Continental Cup and we must grow and promote these as much as possible through innovative and modern means.

“We will need you (the Commission members) more than you think for development since the beach volleyball competition at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro will be a huge success.

"With the Continental Cup, we have a very good product in our hands and now, with its second edition starting in 2014, is the moment to capitalise on its growth and popularity.

“We need to provide the opportunity to play, this is our ultimate aim.”

The Beach Volleyball Commission, which is presided by Executive Board Member in charge of Beach Volleyball Vicente Araujo, reviewed the 2013 season including the World Championships in Stare Jablonki, Poland, the World Cup Final in Campinas, Brazil, the World Tour, which concludes with the Durban Open from December 11 to 15, and the age-group World Championships.

In looking ahead to 2014 and beyond the Commission - which featured members from 14 countries for the meeting plus the Presidents and beach volleyball representatives of the five FIVB Confederations, two player representatives Lauren Fendrick (USA) and Martins Plavins (LAT), technical expert Marco Tullio Teixeira of Brazil plus members of the Refereeing Commission and Rules of the Games Commission - put forward many proposals to the FIVB Executive Committee, which will meet on December 15 whilst also looking ahead to the FIVB beach volleyball season in 2014 and the FIVB’s signature beach volleyball event – the World Championships – which will be held in the Netherlands from June 26 to July 5 in 2015.

The Nanjing Youth Olympic Games, which will feature beach volleyball for the first time, were also discussed with each confederation explaining their qualification system for the quadrennial event, which will take place from August 17 to 28.

The last point on the agenda was the Rio 2016 Olympic Games where the spectacular setting Copacabana beach will host the best beach volleyball players in the world.

The next meeting on the FIVB agenda is the Beach Volleyball World Tour Council, which will take place on Saturday.

Diane Kruger

Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson

Diane Kruger by Natalie Finn

Diane Kruger may be known for her high-fashion style, but in some cases...less is more.

Joshua Jackson's longtime love was a vision in a skimpy black bandeau top and green bikini bottoms as the two lounged poolside yesterday while vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

The German-born star of The Bridge, which has been renewed for a second season by FX, protected her fair complexion from the sun with sunglasses and her guy's fedora (or they have matching hats, because each was photographed wearing it) as they sipped glasses of white wine and enjoyed their time off.

And—good for them—a bottle of sunscreen was visible on the table next to their lounge chairs.

Jackson was no slouch himself in the beach-body department, either, going shirtless in black and gray swim trunks—and even if their hotel room was somehow facing a brick wall, we know he still had a killer view.

But the photographer who chronicled a bit of their getaway may have missed the real fun.

Kruger revealed to E! News back in May that she and Jackson actually prefer to skip the bathing suits altogether when they go swimming.

"Well, I prefer to go naked, but we have a pool, and actually our house is sort of in the middle of nowhere, so skinny-dipping is still an option," she said at an event celebrating designer Prabal Gurung.

Jackson tried to stop his girlfriend from letting the nude cat out of the bag, probably because he knew that America would be all ears (and eyes).

"Still an option," she insisted. "Well, not anymore!" he protested.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Blythe Danner

Gwyneth Paltrow by Bruna Nessif (Not suitable for kids)

You mess with the Goop goddess, you gotta deal with her mama!

Gwyneth Paltrow is no stranger to harsh criticism, and although dealing with the not-so-nice words of critics can be tough, the actress will always have someone to come to her defense—her famous mother Blythe Danner.

While talking to Naughty But Nice Rob, Danner slammed the haters that always pick on her A-list offspring, and offered her two cents as to her Gwynnie always seems to be the target.

"I admire her so much. It [the criticism] doesn't faze her. I think it probably did initially. She said, ‘Mom, I'm going to get this all my life. This is how they see me,'" the famed actress said.

"I feel she's just extraordinarily accomplished in every area and people don't like that, some people don't like that, people who are bored and sit on their ___ all day and just tap away. I mean I don't read any of it, I just find it so disgusting. There is a coarsening of our culture today that is just so tragic."

Blythe is right, the criticism doesn't faze Gwyneth, at least not anymore

Covering the December issue of Red, the 41-year-old actress insists she doesn't care that her personality is polarizing. "This is the thing, it's like the older I get, I realize it doesn't matter what people who don't know you think. It doesn't matter. You're wasting your energy," Paltrow tells the British magazine. "It's like, if your partner comes to you—or your best friend—and says, 'Listen, I want to talk about something you did that hurt me, or I think you could improve,' sit down and listen to what they have to say. But some friend of so-and-sos—it's like, who gives a ___?"

Jena Malone

Jena Malone by Lily Harrison

It's not always glitz and glam when it comes to making movies!

Jena Malone stopped by Chelsea Lately and revealed that her elevator striptease scene wasn't nearly as easy to pull off (sorry, had to!) as people may think.

In fact, the actress shared that she encountered a rather uncomfortable run-in with a hotel guest as she was filming in the buff.

"It was an actual elevator that was working in an actual hotel and it was a giant hotel in Atlanta, the Marriot Marquis," she shared. "And I had like Winnie the Pooh stickers around my [nipples]."

So exactly how did she manage to shoot the scene in such tight quarters?

"We tried to choreograph it like a six-second striptease and it took me a while to get it all off at the right time," she told Chelsea Handler while giggling.

"So everything's off and I turn at the right time so that the camera doesn't see things that they shouldn't. It was a private monitor, I was hoping."

But in the middle of the shoot, Malone and crew realized that working in a functioning hotel elevator came with a certain set of hurdles—namely, unexpected guests.

"There was one lucky gentleman that when the doors opened, there was this man with four Starbucks cups and a little to-go holder thing and he was just trying to get into the elevator and the doors just closed on him," she explained. "I can only imagine what he thought he was walking into!"

Well one thing is certain, both Malone and the hotel guest got a great story out of the awkward experience!

Jennifer Love Hewitt by Lily Harrison

It's a girl!

Jennifer Love Hewitt gave birth to Autumn James Hallisay on Tuesday in Los Angeles. But that's not all...

A rep confirmed to E! News that she also secretly tied the knot to her fiancé, Brian Hallisay.

"Jennifer Love Hewitt and her husband Brian Hallisay are thrilled to announce the birth of their daughter," the couple's statement read. Us Weekly was the first to report the news.

Hewitt most recently had a lavish baby shower in early October at the Hotel Bel-Air.

A source told E! News at the time that approximately 25 women joined the Client List star at a luncheon in an indoor ballroom of the hotel, with guests bringing in presents wrapped in yellow and green packaging and one guest toting pink and blue balloons.

In lieu of the typical blue or pink baby shower décor, the party room was decorated in black, yellow and white, with yellow flowers from Mark's Garden placed on a tree stump and white couches all around the room.

The beautiful event was created by none other than celebrity planner Mindy Weiss.

Hewitt and her beau had decided on waiting to find out the baby's gender until the big day.

"It's one of life's last great surprises and I want to be surprised," the mom-to-be told E! News over the summer.

Hewitt also shared that the baby news has been a blessing following her mother's tragic death last year from cancer.

"I really feel like, while it's been the most devastating blow to my heart and my spirit, something about this baby has been a gift from her," she explained.

"It has somehow been able to replace incredible grief with incredible joy. I'm very, very, very grateful for that. As every day approaches, I ask myself a lot why is she not here for this? Am I going to get through it without her? But I know she's out there and she's watching me and helping me and I'm going to be the best mother possible in her honor."

But despite being grief-stricken earlier this year, Hewitt added that she and Hallisay are extremely focused and ready for their new roles as parents.

"This is the most important thing to us," she told us.

Congratulations to the family of three and newlyweds!

**Congrats. God bless.

Mr. Noel Paul Stookey-- Christmas Dinner

Mr. Noel Paul Stookey-- Christmas Dinner

And it came to pass on a Christmas evening,
When all the doors were shuttered tight,
Outside standing, a lonely boy-child,
Cold and shivering in the night.

On the street every window
Save but one was gleaming bright;
And to this window walked the boy-child
Peeking in saw candlelight.

Through other windows he had looked at turkeys,
Ducks, and geese, and cherry pies;
But through this window saw a gray-haired lady
Table bare and tears in her eyes.

Into his coat reached the boy-child
Knowing well there was little there
He took from his pocket his own Christmas dinner
A bit of cheese and some bread to share.

His outstretched hands held the food and they trembled
As the door it opened wide
Said he "Would you share with me Christmas dinner?"
gently said she , "Come inside."

The gray-haired lady brought forth to the table
Glasses two, last drops of wine.
Said she "Here's a toast to everyone's Christmas,
And especially yours and mine!"

And it came to pass on that Christmas evening
all the doors shuttered tight
That in that town the happiest Christmas
shared by candlelight.

Azzurri di bronzo alla Grand Champions Cup

Congrats! God bless!

Congrats! God bless!

Quanti siamo noi sportivi all'estero?!!...

Qua a mosca noi italiani siamo tantissimi.

MOMENTI CHIAVE - Primo set: 8-5, 12-10, 18-22, 25-22.

The Jennifer Lawrence sequel’s $161M is biggest November opening ever in U.S. and it adds another $146M from overseas in first weekend for Lionsgate

Jennifer Lawrence and “The Hunger Games Catching Fire” scored a box-office bulls-eye this weekend, roaring to $161 million in its U.S. opening.

The domestic haul is the biggest November debut ever, the fourth-best all-time and the year’s second-best, behind only Disney Marvel superhero sequel “Iron Man 3,” which soared to $174 million in May.

“Catching Fire” added another $146 million after opening No. 1 in nearly all 63 foreign markets in which it debuted, giving it a sizzling first weekend total of $307 million worldwide, way up from the $218 million global debut of the first film.

Records aside, it’s a huge financial win for Lionsgate. The massive debut for the sequel to last year’s “The Hunger Games,” which opened to $152 million in the U.S. in March 2012 and went on to take in nearly $700 million globally, means the studio has successfully replaced its “Twilight” franchise.

The next installments of the series based on author Suzanne Collins’ best-selling young-adult trilogy– “Mockingjay Part 1” and “Mockingjay Part 2” – are set for release in November of 2014 and 2015. The studio has launched a massive global merchandising campaign around around Katniss and Co., and has even talked “Hunger Games” theme parks.

“Catching Fire” blew away the competition, accounting for roughly 72 percent of the overall box-office total. The previous best November opening was the $142.9 million put by 2009’s “The Twilight Saga: New Moon.”

Disney’s Marvel superhero sequel “Thor : The Dark World,” the No. 1 movie worldwide with more than $500 million over the past three weeks, finished a distant second with $14 million. Universal’s comedy “The Best Man Holiday” was third in its second week with $12.5 million and the weekend’s only wide opener, the Vince Vaughn sperm donor comedy “Delivery Man,” disappointed with $8 million for DreamWorks and Disney.

Analysts had thought “Catching Fire” might challenge the record debut of “Iron Man 3,” based on pre-release tracking which suggested an opening north of $160 million. But while the sci-fi action sequel averaged more than $38,000 its market-high 4,136 theaters, none of those were 3D. That premium price boost that comes with the format benefited both “Iron Man 3” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” which posted the biggest debut ever with $207 million in May 2012. The third biggest opening ever is “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2″ with $169 million in July of 2011.

The decision by the filmmakers to forego 3D was artistic, with 2D deemed more appropriate for the look and feel of both the original film and the sequel. However, parts of ”Catching Fire,” which had a $130 million production budget, were shot in Imax and it got a major boost from big screens. Fourteen percent of the U.S. grosses came from premium large format screens, led by Imax and Cinemark XD. Eight of the top ten theaters nationwide for “Catching Fire” were Imax, and it accounted for $12.6 million in grosses.

“Catching Fire” played more broadly than the original. The opening night crowd was split evenly between those over 25 years of age and those under. And the audience was 59 percent female, 12 percent less than for “The Hunger Games.”

“The Saturday surge was really exciting and encouraging,” Lionsgate’s executive vice-president and general sales manager David Spitz told TheWrap Sunday. The Saturday grosses for “Catching Fire” were up 16 percent from Friday, with Thursday’s $25 million from early screenings subtracted.

“That tells us audiences loved it and were spreading the word, and that means we’re set up very well for Thanksgiving,” he said.

The strong follow-up to “Hunger Games” is no small achievement. Only 22 original movies have earned more than $350 million domestically and, according to Box Office Mojo, eight have had direct sequels — none of which had matched their predecessor’s grosses.

The audience gave it an “A” CinemaScore and the critics have liked it to. It has an 89 percent positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes, compared with the first film’s 84 percent.

In addition to Lawrence, the sequel returns Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth from the first film. Woody Harrelson, Donald Sutherland, Stanley Tucci, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Sam Claflin and Jena Malone co-star.

The film was directed by Francis Lawrence (“I am Legend”), who took the reins from Gary Ross. Simon Beaufoy and Michael deBruyn adapted the screenplay. Nina Jacobson and Jon Kilik produced.

Madame Brigitte Guillemette We Salute You

So exciting...

In case it happen, Congrats. God bless.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

Lionsgate's sequel The Hunger Games: Catching Fire topped the Friday box office with a historic $70.5 million, one of the biggest opening-day grosses of all time in North America and putting the sequel back on course to eclipse the $152.5 million earned by the first film in March 2012.

Catching Fire is also destined to score the top November opening of all time, eclipsing the $142.8 million earned by fellow YA film adaptation The Twilight Saga: New Moon. The movie, earning an A CinemaScore, marks another major victory for Lionsgate and is reaching a broader audience than Hunger Games did, with males making up 12 percent more of the audience.

Overseas, where it is rolling out in 65 markets, Catching Fire has already earned a stellar $64 million. The movie is doing double the business of Hunger Games overall, and is four times larger in Germany and nearly 40 percent bigger in Australia.

Domestically, many were confounded on Friday when Catching Fire trailed Hunger Games in matinee grosses. But by the time final numbers were tallied, the sequel had narrowly eclipsed the $67.3 million grossed by Hunger Games on its first Friday in late March 2012.

In its November slot, Catching Fire faces far more competition than Hunger Games did, including Thor: The Dark World, which is heading into its third weekend. The first Hunger Games also had the advantage of opening during the spring break corridor.

Hunger Games topped out at $408 million domestically and $283.2 million internationally for a global total of $691.2 million; Catching Fire is expected to do substantially more. By Sunday alone, the movie could cross $300 million in global ticket sales.

Directed by Francis Lawrence, the sequel returns Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth in the lead roles. Woody Harrelson, Donald Sutherland, Stanley Tucci, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Sam Claflin and Jena Malone also star.

Heidi Klum

Congrats! God bless!

Jethro Tull: Heavy Horses

Comments:Not suitable for kids

Mr. John Glascock--We Salute You, RIP

Jethro Tull: Heavy Horses

Iron-clad, feather-feet pounding the dust
On Octobers day, towards evening
Sweat embossed veins standing proud to the plough
Salt on a deep chest, seasoning

Last of the line at an honest days toil
Turning the deep sod under
Flint at the fetlock, chasing the bone
Flies at the nostrils plunder

The Suffolk, the Clydesdale, the Percheron vie
With the shire on his feathers, floating
Hauling soft timber into the dusk
To bed on a warm straw coating

Heavy horses move the land under me
Behind the plough gliding, slipping and sliding free
And now you're down to the few and there's no work to do
The tractors on its way

Let me find you a filly for your proud stallion seeds
To keep the old line going
And well stand you abreast at the back of the woods
Behind the young trees growing

To hide you from eyes that mock at your girth
You're eighteen hands at the shoulder
And one day when the oil barons have all dripped dry
And the nights are seen to draw colder

They'll beg for your strength, your gentle power
Your noble grace and your bearing
And you'll strain once again to the sound of the gulls
In the wake of the deep plough, sharing

Heavy horses move the land under me
Behind the plough gliding, slipping and sliding free
And now you're down to the few and there's no work to do
The tractors on its way

Standing like tanks on the brow of the hill
Up into the cold wind facing
In stiff battle harness, chained to the world
Against the low sun racing

Bring me a wheel of oaken woods
A rein of polished leather
A heavy horse and a tumbling sky
Brewing heavy weather

Bring a song for the evening
Clean brass to flash the dawn
Across these acres glistening
Like dew on a carpet lawn

In these dark towns, folk lie sleeping
As the heavy horses thunder by
So wake the dying city
With the living horseman's cry

At once the old hands quicken
Bring pick and wisp and curry comb
Thrill to the sound of all the
Heavy horses coming home

Iron-clad, feather-feet pounding the dust
On Octobers day, towards evening
Sweat embossed veins standing proud to the plough
Salt on a deep chest, seasoning

Bring me a wheel of oaken woods
A rein of polished leather
A heavy horse and the tumbling sky
Brewing heavy weather

Heavy horses move the land under me
Behind the plough gliding, slipping and sliding free
And now you're down to the few and there's no work to do
The tractors on its way

Oh, heavy horses move the land under me
Behind the plough gliding, slipping and sliding free
And now you're down to the few and there's no work to do
The tractors on its way

Mr. Johnny Mathis--We Need A Little Christmas

Haul out the holly
Put up the tree before my spirit falls again
Fill up the stocking
I may be rushing things but deck the halls again now

For we need a little Christmas right this very minute
Candles in the window, carols at the spinet
Yes we need a little Christmas right this very minute
Hasn't snowed a single flurry, but Santa dear we're in a hurry

Climb down the chimney
Turn on the brightest string of lights I've ever seen
Slice up the fruit cake
It's time we've hung some tinsel on the evergreen bough

For I've grown a little leaner, grown a little colder
Grown a little sadder, grown a little older
And I need a little angel sitting on my shoulder
Need a little Christmas now

For we need a little music, need a little laughter
need a little singing ringing through the rafter
and we need a little snappy, happy ever after
We need a little Christmas now!

Jennifer Lawrence by Zach Johnson

Jennifer Lawrence wasn't feeling her best at the L.A. premiere of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire—not that you would know it by looking at her.

"I was getting this really bad abdominal pains for like three weeks and I did that thing where I'm like, 'I'm not gonna go to the doctor,'" she said during a Thursday, Nov. 21, appearance on Good Morning America. "I finally had a day where I was like, 'No, I need to get this looked at.' Now it's reported in the news that I went to the emergency room for gas, which is awesome. Let's confirm that!"

"They're saying it could either be in my lower intestine or all in my mind, so I'm gonna cross my fingers for it's all in my mind and I'm just crazy," she added. (Luckily, Lawrence didn't go into nearly as much detail as she did during her Wednesday, Nov. 20, appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman.)

Even if she weren't feeling ill at the film's Nov. 18 premiere, Lawrence still would have been uncomfortable on the red carpet. The actress caused a stir wearing a sheer Dior Haute Couture dress that exposed her toned legs—much to the Kentucky native's chagrin.

"I think any time a girl has to show her thighs it's never going to be her favorite look. I love the dress—if someone else wore it," she said. "It's hard for any woman to look at a picture of herself and like it."

The Academy Award winner also said that getting a pixie cut was an "impulsive" decision. "I was just like, 'I'm cutting it!'" she said of her recent makeover. "And then it was all gone."

While press tours can be taxing—especially when she's under the weather—Lawrence wouldn't trade her experiences for anything. "Most of my friends are still trying to figure out what they want to do, and I just feel so lucky," she said. "I'm doing what I love and I can do that forever."

Eric Clapton exhibition

Genesis Publications, the world’s leading publisher of limited editions on music icons, is opening an Eric Clapton exhibition at their gallery in Guildford, Surrey next month. Running from 6 to 31 December, the show will be based on SIX-STRING STORIES, the book written with Eric Clapton, which tells the story of his career through nearly 300 guitars and amps in his collection. The exhibition will feature guitars, quotes, memorabilia and rare and unseen photos from the legendary musician's personal archive.

Visits will be by appointment to view, with at least one open day during the month when no appointments will be necessary. The first open day will be on Saturday 7th December. Those who wish to visit the Six-String Stories Exhibit can register their interest here.

“This has been an exciting book to do with Eric Clapton,” says Nick Roylance, co-owner of Genesis Publications, “and the exhibition will draw on his guitars and the stories behind them in his own words. It’s the third book we’ve done together over the last 20 years, but it’s the first time we’ve mounted an exhibition inspired by one of them.”

Clapton signed all 2,000 copies of SIX-STRING STORIES. He has said, "One by one, these guitars were the were the chapters of my life." The book presents a 'family tree', making connections between his instruments and amps, and placing them in the chronology of his fifty year career. Playlists and concert dates accompany the instruments that were used on million-sellers and at mind-blowing performances. Historical and technical information is provided for every piece of his vast collection. Each guitar story has breathtaking photos that show the beauty of each design and the wear and tear that is often caused by years on the road. The instruments are also shown in play, with performance shots of Clapton taken by over 80 of the world's best photographers, including David Bailey, Terry O'Neill, Dominique Tarlé and Lord Snowdon.

Ginnifer Goodwin by Zach Johnson

The rumors are true: Ginnifer Goodwin is pregnant! E! News confirms that the Once Upon a Time actress and her costar, fiancé Josh Dallas, are expecting their first child together. Other details, including the baby's gender and due date, are being kept private. The short-haired star had been wearing loose-fitting clothing for weeks, sparking speculation that she might be expecting.
Goodwin, 35, and Dallas, 31, met on the set of the ABC fantasy series in 2011 and took their romance public the following spring. The actors—who play Snow White and Prince Charming, respectively—announced their engagement in October 2013.

The He's Just Not That Into You actress has long expressed her desire to become a mother. In November 2010—when she was engaged to actor Joey Kern—Goodwin told InStyle UK that she hopes to have a large family. "I want three or five children, but I need a bigger house or a smaller closet. I'm 32, so I'm already thinking about that. If it happened right now, I would absolutely have a baby."

"The only issue I have with aging is nothing to do with my career," the Killing Kennedy star added. "It's that I want to have a lot of kids before I'm physically unable to do so."
People was the first to report Goodwin's pregnancy.

Congrats! God bless!

Ms. Diane Disney Miller We Salute You

Variety Staff

Philanthropist Diane Disney Miller, who was the daughter of Walt Disney, died Tuesday at her home in Napa, Calif. She had suffered a fall in September from which she never recovered.

Disney Miller, the eldest and only biological daughter of Lillian and Walt Disney, helped shepherd the development of Los Angeles’ Walt Disney Concert Hall, which was designed by architect Frank Gehry and opened in 2004. When Gehry tried to walk off the project in 1997, Disney Miller persuaded him to stay, saying that the remaining funds from her mother’s gift could not be used unless he remained as architect.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of Diane Disney Miller and our thoughts are with her family during this difficult time,” said Disney prexy and CEO Robert Iger. “As the beloved daughter of Walt Disney and one of his inspirations for creating Disneyland, she holds a special place in the history of the Walt Disney Company and in the hearts of fans everywhere. She will be remembered for her grace and generosity and tireless work to preserve her father’s legacy, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.”

At age 20, Diane Disney was introduced to USC student Ron Miller; they married in 1954, and he survives her. Walt Disney helped Miller get jobs on various Disney shows, and by 1978 he was president and then CEO of Walt Disney Productions until being ousted in 1984. Since 1981, the Miller family has operated Napa’s Silverado Vineyards Winery.

After Disney Hall was completed, she moved on to nurturing her father’s legacy through the creation of the Walt Disney Family Museum, which opened in San Francisco in 2009.

Her adopted sister, Sharon Mae Disney, died in 1993. In addition to her husband, she is survived by seven children.

Elsa Pataky vuelve a estar embarazada.

Congrats! God bless!

Alessandra Sublet Par Élodie Mandel | Closer posted Oct. 24, 2013

Happy Birthday. God bless.
