Mariska Hargitay and Ali Wentworth by Rebecca Macatee

Why just hug your friends when you can kiss 'em?

Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay and author and comedienne Ali Wentworth were so excited to see each other Wednesday night at the Joyful Revolution Gala in NYC that they locked lips on the red carpet!

But don't bother stirring up any romance rumors: Both ladies are happily married—Hargitay to Peter Hermann and Wentworth to George Stephanopolous—and this girl-on-girl smooch was strictly platonic.

READ: Mariska Hargitay Talks Hosting Saturday Night Live: I'm Funnier Than You Think!

Hargitay, 48, founded Joyful Heart in 2004 with the intention of helping survivors of abuse heal and reclaim their lives. Since its inception, more than 2000 survivors have participated in Joyful Heart's pioneering retreat and wellness program.

Other stars who came out to support the the foundation's work included Hilary Swank, Debra Messing and Glenn Close.

The Beatles - "Honey Don't"

Well how come you say you will when you won't,
Say you do, baby, when you don't?
Let me know honey how you feel,
Tell the truth now, is love real?

But huh uh well honey don't, well honey don't,
honey don't, honey don't, honey don't
A-say you will when you won't, huh uh honey, don't.

Well I love you, baby, and you ought to know
I like the way that you wear your clothes,
Everything about you is so doggone sweet,
You got that sand all over your feet.

But huh uh well honey don't, honey don't,
honey don't, honey don't, honey don't
A-say you will when you won't, huh uh honey, don't.

[Oh, rock on George, one time for me.]
[I feel fine.]
[Mmmm hmm]
[I said.]

Well sometimes I love you on a Saturday night,
Sunday morning you don't look right.
You've been out painting the town,
huh uh baby, been stepping around.

But huh uh well honey don't, I said honey don't,
honey don't, honey don't, honey don't
A-say you will when you won't, huh uh honey, don't.

[Oh, rock on George, for Ringo one time.]

Well honey don’t, well honey don’t,
A little little honey don't,
A-say you will when you won't, uh huh honey, don't.

The Beatles Strawberry Fields Forever

Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about.
Strawberry Fields forever.

Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see.
It's getting hard to be someone but it all works out.
It doesn't matter much to me.

Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about.
Strawberry Fields forever.

No one I think is in my tree, I mean it must be high or low.
That is you can't you know tune in but it's all right.
That is I think it's not too bad.

Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about.
Strawberry Fields forever.

Always, no sometimes, think it's me
But you know I know when it's a dream
I think I know I mean a "Yes" but it's all wrong
That is I think I disagree

Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about.
Strawberry Fields forever.
Strawberry Fields forever.
Strawberry Fields forever.

French Open 2012 posted May 29, 2012

A shell-shocked Serena Williams crashed to her earliest defeat at a Grand Slam when she was beaten 4-6 7-6 6-3 by French darling Virginie Razzano in a pulsating first round showdown at Roland Garros.

Never before had the 13-times Grand-Slam champion, one of the pre-tournament favourites for the title, lost in the first round of a major but on Tuesday she paid the price for a performance she summed up as full of "errors".

The fifth seed was two points from victory at 5-1 up in the second set tiebreak but her game inexplicably collapsed as she lost six points in a row to lose the set.

The American appeared close to tears during the changeover at the end of the set and struggled to shake off her near-miss in the decider as she allowed her 111th ranked opponent to romp into a 5-1 lead.

But Williams, who believes herself to be the ultimate fighter in the sport, refused to throw in the towel and scraped back to 5-3 as Razzano struggled to deliver the knockout punch.

Just when it seemed as if Razzano would join a long list of players who choke at their home Grand Slam event, the Frenchwoman played her heart out.

A cramping Razzano held her nerve in a jittery, action-packed ninth game of the final set, which lasted 25 minutes, stretched to 12 deuces and featured four break points.

There was even a moment of controversy as Razzano was penalised by the umpire for letting out a loud squeal mid-point, leading to a loud chorus of boos from the fans.

The Frenchwoman took it all in her stride before finally winning the contest on her eighth match point.

Such was the drama of the match that Razzano was even made to wait before she could celebrate her glorious victory as the umpire had to climb down from her chair to confirm Williams's backhand was long.

Razzano, who lost her fiance to a brain tumour a year ago, jumped up in joy after surviving three hours and three minutes of topsy-turvy tennis that delighted the hollering crowd in Court Philippe Chatrier.

While Williams swiftly packed her bags as she digested her earliest Slam exit in 47 appearances, Razzano celebrated her greatest triumph.

"I didn't think too much. I know I have unlimited resources. I dug very deep and I knew nothing was lost, even when I had cramps (in the last game), even when I was not feeling well," she told a courtside interviewer.

"It's the most beautiful victory in my career.

Williams did not mince her words as she summed up her day.

"I made so many errors today which is not the game that I have been playing in the past. There is no excuse," Williams admitted.

World number 111 Razzano next faces Arantxa Rus of Holland for a place in the third round.

A merciless Maria Sharapova whizzed past unheralded Romanian Alexandra Cadantu 6-0 6-0 to book her place in the second round of the French Open.

Russian second seed Sharapova was her usual sulky, aggressive self, peppering a sunsoaked Court Suzanne Lenglen with winners to crush the world number 78 in 48 minutes.

Sharapova, who has a chance of taking over from Victoria Azarenka as world number one depending of the Belarusian's run in Paris, blew kisses to the crowd after wrapping it up when Cadantu sent a backhand long on the first match point.

The Russian, who needs the French crown to complete her Grand Slam title collection, will next face Japan's Ayumi Morita.

"I feel like with every year I have improved and I enjoy it much more," the Russian former world number one said. "I feel like I'm moving a lot better than I did in years previously, which has helped me a lot in the recovery process within the point."

Czech Republic fourth seed Petra Kvitova barely broke sweat to see off Australian wild card Ashleigh Barty 6-1 6-2 to reach the second round.

The Wimbledon champion needed just 54 minutes on a sundrenched Court Suzanne Lenglen to subdue her 16-year-old opponent.

World number 332 Barty broke Kvitova's serve in the first game of the second set but the Czech had simply too much pace.

Kvitova will next meet either France's Pauline Parmentier or Poland's Urszula Radwanska.

Francesca Schiavone, bidding to reach her third French Open final in three years, defeated Japan's Kimiko Date-Krumm 6-3 6-1 in the first round.

The Italian, 2010 champion at Roland Garros and runner-up last year, was never severely tested by Date-Krumm, the third-oldest woman to play at the French in the professional era, at the age of 41.

Date-Krumm, who made her Roland Garros debut in 1989 and reached the last four in 1995, saved two breakpoints at 0-2 down in the second set but surrendered two more service games despite some occasional impressive shots.

Schiavone, seeded 14th, said she had felt nervous about stepping out on the Philippe Chatrier court again after losing last year's final to Li Na.

"Before going out I was really very tense because to play on the central court, to feel all you can feel on such a big court and to be here with you hopes and dreams is very difficult. But as soon as I came on, I started to breathe and to move," she said.

Schiavone paid tribute to Date-Krumm, saying: "I think Kimiko is a really fantastic athlete. It doesn't matter if she wins many matches or not, I think she is an example for everybody - she works a lot, she respects the other players.

"I think we have to learn many things from her," added Schiavone. "For me it's great to play against her."

The Italian will now play Tsvetana Pironkova of Bulgaria, who beat Belgian Yanina Wickmayer 3-6 6-0 6-3.

**Keep it up Maria. God bless.

The Beatles - Taxman

Let me tell you how it will be

There's one for you, nineteen for me'

'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman

Should five per cent appear too small

Be thankful I don't take it all

'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman

If you drive a car, I'll tax the street,

If you try to sit, I'll tax your seat.

If you get too cold, I'll tax the heat

If you take a walk, I'll tax your feet.

Taxman

'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman

Don't ask me what I wanted it for

If you don't want to pay some more

'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman

Now my advice for those who die

Taxman

Declare the pennies on your eyes

Taxman

'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman

And you're working for no one but me.

Who knows how long I've loved you
You know I love you still
Will I wait a lonely lifetime?
If you want me to I will

For if I ever saw you
I didn't catch your name
But it never really mattered
I will always feel the same

Love you forever and forever
Love you with all my heart
Love you whenever we're together
Love you when we're apart

And when at last I find you
Your song will fill the air
Sing it loud so I can hear you
Make it easy to be near you
For the things you do endear you to me
Oh, you know I will, I will

Johnny Depp

Actor Johnny Depp, who recently revealed that his great-grandmother was a Cherokee Indian, has been officially inducted into the Comanche Nation as the newest member of the Native American tribe.

The 'Blow' star's induction is timely as he is currently playing Comanche Nation character Tonto in a movie reboot of classic western TV series 'The Lone Ranger' alongside 'Social Network' star Armie Hammer.

Ladonna Harris, the president of Americans for Indian Opportunity, stated: "Johnny is reprising the historic role of Tonto, and it seemed like a natural fit to officially welcome him into our Comanche family.

"I reached out, and Johnny was very receptive to the idea. He seemed proud to receive the invitation, and we were honoured that he so enthusiastically agreed."

The 48-year-old four-time Oscar nominee accepted the honour at Harris' home on Wednesday in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which is where filming is currently taking place. The star arrived bearing gifts and took photos with the members of his adopted tribe.

Harris revealed that "welcoming Johnny into the family in the traditional way was so fitting. He's a very thoughtful human being, and throughout his life and career, he has exhibited traits that are aligned with the values and worldview that indigenous peoples share."

David Bowie's son

Duncan Jones, son of rock star David Bowie and director of sci-fi hits 'Moon' and 'Source Code', has been picked to helm a film project tracing the life of James Bond novelist Ian Fleming.

Before Fleming found fame as the creator of secret agent 007, his own life was brimming with real life espionage as he travelled the world and masterminded real operations as a Naval Intelligence Officer. His experiences bled onto the page across a dozen Bond novels and more short stories. Fleming also penned the children's story 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang'.

Duncan Jones said: "Fleming lived through one of the most perilous periods in world history, in a position that allowed him a unique vantage point of all the players, all the stakes.

"He witnesses true heroism first-hand. And he saw the evil men could do. Then, when the war ended, he went off to write fiction. The essential question for me is; where did Ian Fleming end and Bond begin?"

K5 Film (Oliver Simon and Daniel Baur), PalmStar Media Capital’s Kevin Frakes and Liberty Films’ Stuart Fenegan will produce the film in association with Jim Young and Robert Laycock of the Ian Fleming Estate.

Jones is currently casting the film, which is based on the authoritative biography 'Ian Fleming, The Man Behind James Bond' by Andrew Lycett. It is the only film to have the full backing of the Ian Fleming Estate.

Stuart Fenegan commented, “The opportunity to make a period action film about the life of Fleming and origins of Bond – a hero we all grew up idolising – is too great for Duncan and me to resist.”

Fleming has been played in previous biopics by Charles Dance and Jason Connery (son of Bond actor Sean Connery).

'Robocop' remake

MGM have another classy actor for another remake - Oscar nominee Gary Oldman will play one of the leads in the studio's 'Robocop' update.

Oldman won't be playing the slain/resurrected Detroit cop Murphy/Robocop (that role goes to Joel Kinnaman from TV's 'The Killing') but will instead be playing a character called Norton.

Norton is the scientist responsible for creating Robocop which means that while he is playing another man of power Oldman may not be hamming it up in his usual villainous ways (ala 'Leon', 'Air Force One', 'The Fifth Element', 'The Book of Eli' and so on).

Kinnaman has himself spoken out that he wants this 'Robocop' to be an adult film, brimming with violence just like the original and not watered down to secure a family-friendly age rating.

He said: "I sincerely hope they’re going for an R rating, because I can’t imagine how RoboCop could be PG-13. That would be a huge mistake. If I have any say in it, I will fight very hard for it. It has to be violent."

The original lead role was played by Peter Weller. The remake is due on screens by August 2013.

'Magnificent Seven' remake

MGM are continuing to mine the riches of their huge back catalogue of films with the latest remake news coming in the form of a 'Magnificent Seven' revisit with Tom Cruise donning some six guns.

'The Magificent Seven' was a huge hit for MGM in 1960 with Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, Yul Brynner, Robert Vaughn, James Coburn, Brad Dexter and Horst Buchholz giving winning performances as the titular heroes under John Sturges' direction. Eli Wallach played the bad guy while Elmer Bernstein's memorable score took home the Oscar.

The film itself was a remake, Americanising Akira Kurosawa's epic Japanese masterpiece 'Seven Samurai' from 1954 - a film which consistently ranks high among the greatest films ever made.

Both films revolve around the idea of down-and-out warriors for hire who agree to defend a small village from tyranny in the face of a much stronger enemy force, requiring them to come up with a winning strategy and bond as men before doing battle.

MGM is also rebooting 'Carrie' and 'Robocop' with remakes before this one. 'The Magnificent Seven' has only just been announced and it isn't confirmed which of the conflicted cowboys Cruise will play. He could even opt for the villain role.

Given the packed nature of his current calendar, the film will be a few years off yet. Before that, Cruise is starring in an adaptation of Lee Child's thriller novel 'One Shot' as well as Joseph Kosinski's dystopian sci-fi film 'Oblivion' and the Doug Liman action movie 'All You Need is Kill' and a spin-off from 'Tropic Thunder' that expands on his priceless cameo performance as vulgar studio exec Les Grossman.

If that wasn't enough, the three-time Oscar nominee is also being sought by Clint Eastwood for the male lead opposite Beyoncé in another remake of 'A Star Is Born', and there are rumours of 'Top Gun 2' preparing for take-off as well. Before all that Cruise will be seen in his first musical 'Rock of Ages'.

Protest held over GM wheat study

..Hundreds of protesters have gathered near a scientific research centre where a genetically modified wheat crop is being grown.

Security around the site in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, has been increased in preparation for the demonstration.

Members of the anti-GM movement Take The Flour Back said they planned to rip up the crops which they fear could "contaminate" nearby fields, prompting St Albans City and District to apply to the Home Secretary for greater police powers.

The order they were granted prevents anyone going on the land belonging to Rothamsted Research until midnight tonight. There is a heavy police presence around the centre and a nearby park, where activists were gathering before walking to Rothamsted.

Professor Maurice Moloney, director of Rothamsted Research, said protesters could ruin years of research and insisted the chance of any cross-pollination was minuscule.

He said: "We have no idea who is advising them scientifically, because it is absolutely incorrect.

"Wheat is a self-pollinating plant so there is virtually no chance of any cross-pollination with local wheat.

"The way we have grown the wheat is desynchronised with local wheat as well, meaning it flowers at different times. It is the equivalent risk of worrying that a tornado would hit you."

The experimental crop of GM wheat was planted in April and is due to grow until September. It has been developed with genes from the mint plant.

Prof Moloney explained: "As a result, the wheat produces a volatile chemical which the aphids don't like and it makes them go elsewhere. The purpose of it is to see if we can come up with a strategy that would avoid the use of pesticides in wheat crops, as they kill other creatures like bumblebees."

Eric Clapton - Please be with me

Oh my word, what does it mean?
Is it love or is it me
Makes me change so suddenly?
Looking out, feeling free.

Sit here lying in my bed,
Wondering what it was I'd said
Made me think I'd lost my head,
When I knew I lost my heart instead.

Won't you please read my signs, be a gypsy.
Tell me what I hope to find deep within me.
Because you can find my mind, please be with me.

All the better things I've heard,
Loving you has made the words
All the rest seem so absurd,
In the end it all comes out i'm sure.

Won't you please read my signs, be a gypsy.
Tell me what I hope to find deep within me.
Because you can find my mind, please be with me.
